WHAT DO YOU SEE?

Joshua 6:2 KJV ''And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.''

From our opening scripture, the children of Israel were about to go to war with Jericho, and when you carefully study Jericho, you'll realize that they were not just an ordinary foe. Their warriors were indeed mighty men of valour, the walls of Jericho were well constructed, very high and heavily guarded. Jericho's top notch security was enough to make their adversaries fear.

But God said to Joshua, ''...See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour''

Why do you think God used the expression ''See''. God was not referring to Joshua's physical eyes, No! God wanted to change Joshua's mindset or mental construction in order for him to believe that Jericho was already defeated. God wanted Joshua to 'see' first the victory, with the eyes of his faith. If Joshua couldn't 'see' Israel triumphing over Jericho, he wouldn't have conquered Jericho.

In Genesis 13:14-15, ''The Lord said to Abram after Lot had left him, Lift up now your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; For all the land which you see I will give to you and to your posterity forever.''

God wanted Abraham to visualize it first, before he's got it. And Abraham looked with the eyes of faith and everything he saw, he possessed. Glory to God!

This is very applicable to our lives today. Often times, when we are faced with challenges or difficulties, how we see the challenge or difficulty is very instrumental in overcoming the situation. A wise man once said,

''The problem is how we see the problem.''

What can you see concerning your current situation? With the eyes of your faith, can you see (visualize) yourself overcoming the situation? Can you see yourself coming out of that debt, financial crises, pain or sickness, depression? The extent of your vision is the boundary of your blessings.

Refuse to focus your energy on the problem, rather see yourself coming out of it victoriously; and you do that with your faith.  The bible teaches in 1st John 5:4

''For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith.'' Glory to God!

The choice is yours to make, whether to exercise your faith and continually live victoriously everyday of your life or live a life of failure. I believe you'll make the right choice.  God bless you!
