The word ''Mindset'' can be defined as a fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines a person's responses to and interpretation of situations. An inclination or habit.
As a Christian, you need to have a particular mindset. The glorious word to God ought to be the basis of your mindset. For example, the book of 1 John 4:4 KJV says;
''Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.''
Often times, we speed-read the scriptures without allowing it to sink into our hearts. The above scripture says we hail from God, our origin is from God. If that's true, it then means that we function like God (2nd Corinthians 3:5-6). But how many Christians today have accepted, believed and reckoned it to be so in their lives?
Furthermore, it says ''we have overcome them....'' We have overcome the devil and the world. Ironically, a lot of Christians know this verse of the bible, yet the devil is having a field day in their lives.
The concluding part states why we have have overcome them; because the greater one (The Holy Spirit) dwells in us. Have you ever pondered on the ramifications or implications that the same Spirit of God, now lives in you? Think of how successful and awesome your life will be when you are fully awakened to the fact that the Holy Spirit guides, protects and directs you everyday?
The bible teaches in Luke 6:45 KJV ''A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.''
Until God's word permeates your being and form in you a mindset, it will not produce results in your life. The word of God ought to become an integral part of your life, such that when you speak, consciously or unconsciously, you emit God's word. The world paints a picture of ''ups and down, doom and sorrows'' but the Christian have a mindset:
Romans 8:28 KJV ''And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.''
Hallelujah!
Notice, it says ''And we know....'' Its an awareness, a knowing, a mindset that regardless of whatever we face as difficulties or challenges, we are sure to overcome. Glory to God!
The mindset of the Christian can be cultivated, and you do that by the word of God. The book of Romans sheds more light on this.
Romans 12:2 KJV ''And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.''
The word of God is our tool for conditioning or renewing or programming the mind. As you continuously study, meditate and act on God's word, you cultivate the mindset of the Christian. Paul said to Timothy:
1st Timothy 4:15 Amp ''Practice and cultivate and meditate upon these duties; throw yourself wholly into them [as your ministry], so that your progress may be evident to everybody.''
As you cultivate the mindset of the Christian, you'll live above the devil, the world and every circumstance that may come your way. Glory to God! God bless you!
